Life Is An Open Window
All my neighbors can see into my house and I am not happy. Since my drapes came crashing down we have not replaced them yet. It's one of those "Honey , when are we doing the sliding door windows?".... No response. My husband tells me he refuses to put brackets and drapery rods back into the wall. Whatever the wall is made of won't hold the drapery "stuff". Ookkkaay...so it got me thinking. There was no way I was doing verticals or whatever on this baby. I came up with this idea of hanging a beautiful piece of bamboo or another natural element with twine (stay with me here) from the ceiling. And hang sheer drapes. So it gives some privacy. And a West Elmish kind of look. Fingers crossed....

Jennifer, you have the most awesome ideas! Can't wait to see a picture!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Jennifer! I have a similar issue with regards to replacing blinds in my family room. Can't stand the lack of privacy and / or a completely out dated look. Best of luck with this and I'll look forward to seeing how they turn out!

Oh that sounds really interesting! I have yet to clothe my windows in our new home... can't wait to see your finished project.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from SITS, make it a great day!
When we moved into our new house we could not afford to cover all the windows right away, so we ended up with temporary paper shades from Lowes you basically stick into place. Your bamboo solutions sounds much prettier. Good luck!
