Flea Market Finds

It's a rainy Monday where I am. My baby girl is home sick today. Last week was my son and today it's my daughter. It goes through the house. Does that happen to your family?

I was excited to post the pics of my cool finds after thrift shopping last Friday with my mom.
A pink tinsel retro tree has been on my wish list ever since I saw one at my friends house. Yay! I found one! 50% off ..nice. It was in this outlet shop of an upscale boutique. Every so often I pop into this shop just to check out what they have on sale. Lucky me. Thinking it would get put away until Christmas...It looks so pretty for Easter. We picked up little Easter eggs to hang on the tree. My son had a party decorating the tree last night.

I also picked up this cool bracelet at the same shop.

I was also on the hunt for a Moroccan type bag. Every shop we went in the prices were like $300 and up. What? Oh well , a girl can dream. The last thrift shop we went in had a super cute bag for $10! Not exactly what I was looking for but close enough.

This cake plate was just sitting there..waiting for ,me. It's not clear in the picture but the color is this beautiful celery green. So perfect for Spring and some yummy cupcakes on Easter.

Last, I picked up these wooden beads. I loved them because they reminded me of prayer beads.

I love looking around my house and most of my pieces big & small have a story. That's the beauty of flea marketing. I have some pieces of furniture that my husband & I would throw in the trunk of  a cab in NYC from the Chelsea Market. We would pick up bread & cheese. Go home to our studio apt. and throw open the windows. We would spend hours stripping the paint and redoing the piece. Another time my mom had come to visit me from Fl and as her cab was pulling away, the super of my building came out with an old dresser that someone was throwing away. I was so sad to see my mom leave, he couldn't have given me a piece of old furniture at a better time! Aaaah, happy memories.
I would love to hear about some of your favorite finds?
Happy Monday All!! xoxo

  3. My youngest tends to get sick right before an extended break of hers, thus giving her an extra couple of days. Good times. Stopping by from SITS to say thanks for your well wishes on my SITS day Tuesday!
